This page provides optimal Spear placements and multiple clear methods for the Krug camp. Successfully clearing Krugs efficiently is a key part of an optimized Nidalee jungle path, but it can be very challenging due to several factors, it’s the hardest part of the guide.
As explained in Spear range indicator setup, max-range Spears are essential to optimize your clear. They improve clear speed (more jungle pet ticks), let you aggro camps earlier as they path toward you, and most importantly, ensure a consistent clear. That's why I've identified the furthest possible spots to cast your spear, shown below for Blue and Red sides. Blue Side:

Before diving into the specific clear methods, it's crucial to remember how HP Shard choice and ****the "Double-Tick Bug” (both discussed on the main guide in RNG Impact and in the HP Flat Shard vs HP Scaling Shard : a statistical analysis page) significantly impact Krug clears.
The following methods will often present different sequences based on these two factors**.** A method might be more consistent and/or faster with Flat HP Shard and/or Double-Tick Bug. The table below shows the pet damage difference between having 14 or 15 ticks (representing clears without and with the "Double-Tick Bug" on Krugs) for both HP Shards:
Rune Type | Condition (Level 2) | Damage per Tick | Total on 14 Ticks | Total on 15 Ticks | Diff. on 14 Ticks | Diff. on 15 Ticks |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
HP Flat Shard (+65 HP) | 2 | 27.15 | ~380.1 | ~407.3 | +18.9 | +20.3 |
HP Scaling Shard (+10-180 HP) | 2 | 25.80 | ~361.2 | ~387.0 | — | — |
